DK Designs: Winner of the Crafters' Throwdown

Can you believe that peony is made of clay?

Well the people have spoken. And basically my friend and colleague Diane Phillips from DK Designs kicked my ass in the first Crafters' Throwdown.

So she is the first official winner of the Crafters' Throwdown Golden Glue Gun award and a cupcake of her choice.

This was her winning clay flower...

That beat my beaded flower... In a fun and friendly competition

So to pay up I met her at Kara's cupcakes last week...

Where I bought her this cupcake.

That's Diane enjoying the spoils of victory, or to be exact a Fleur de Sel chocolate cupcake with chocolate ganache frosting and a gooey caramel center. Congratulations Diane! Your win was well deserved :o)

And this was my consolation prize. A mini Fleur de Sel cupcake... Just a little bigger then bite size... Can you see the caramel oozing out from under the chocolate ganache? If this is the second place prize I'll happily lose to Diane any day of the week!

  1. LOL... That was a fun contest and I just enjoyed hanging out for the afternoon! The cupcake prize was DELICIOUS! :)

  2. Congrats to both of you! I think both the clay and beaded flowers were really nice! Good job!
