Did you know the National Marrow Donor Program was born out of love for one child? I didn't until I saw this video.“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
― Margaret Mead
In 1979 Laura Graves, suffering from Leukemia received the first unrelated bone marrow transplant. And it worked.
Her grateful parents wanted others to receive the same life saving cure and set out to create a national bone marrow registry.
If you watch it, this video will inspire you. It will show you how the idea that began in one person's mind, and the actions of one family, received support from both the public and government and has now helped tens of thousands of people.
